Brief: For this project, your focus will be on creating a concept that advertises the importance of the arts. We’re talking music, painting, photography, dance, poetry, theater, you name it.

Research: The art I'm going to save is martial arts. I researched the audience and popularity of mixed martial arts. Also, I found out who could be my potential target age group.

Sketches: One set of sketches was to show the potential consequences of getting into physical altercations without knowing how to fight. The other sketches are about the positive things you can get from martial arts.

Comps: Using the feedback from my peers, I decided to go with the idea that martial arts is more than violence. It was more impactful in the long term.

Final: The figure comp was the most well-received. I also like it the best. After the group critiques, I made some changes based on that. The text color was changed from black to white for better readability for print. Also, I included a logo for an MMA gym. I made some minor changes to the figures to make them more consistent between all of them. Overall, I did excellent. The call to action was great because the sketch critique led me to these ideas.
